I wrote this one a few years back and only recently refined it.
This is not my best piece, but I am posting it because I feel that it has a very strong tone to it.
I get angry and deny what I've done.
I wrote the following poem on March 6th. I have long forgotten about this piece, and though I am no longer angry (which prompted me to write the poem), I still feel that this is an important poem to share. Enjoy!
The Vigil, a juncture countered by reason.
Trying to be amongst the crowd
There may as well have been a fire.
This poem addresses the truth behind being a minority in any given situation. Often in society, there are minorities that band together and criticize individuals of particular majorities for actions that others of their race, religion, gender, etc. have been convicted of doing. These newly criticized individuals then in turn become a new minority.
