The Repulsive Ostracism
I wrote the following poem on March 6th. I have long forgotten about this piece, and though I am no longer angry (which prompted me to write the poem), I still feel that this is an important poem to share. Enjoy!
The Repulsive Ostracism
Are we still rejected, deferred,
From mistakes in one's development,
To be a human being, one amongst society?
Fitting into conformities of age.
How it is we proceed in finding our role in the nation.
The irony is of morale.
Rather than embracing the differences with your supposedly accepting arms-hands,
Such are only utilized for exclusion; pushing away,
Even the most minimal of variations,
Those that stray from your artificial normality.
You acquiesce, at the very most.
Please? At wisest, accept at the very least!
No need to love, no need to hate, but do not resort to hypocrisy!
Equality you preach, so let us exist-all of us-cooperatively.
And I decree, truly progressively.
And the ode, the plea, the epic message from heart: dissolve this toxic metamorphosis.
