Mind Neighbor

Part 2: OCD

Mind Neighbor

I may be me, but there is another.

One who shares my brain,

And acts like my mother,

And tells me what to do,

And when to do it.

I can never catch a break,

I can only push through it.

And when I think it is asleep,

Mind Neighbor screams,

And makes me weep.

I am at it's bidding,

No matter what I say.

Mind Neighbor is superior,

Now and everyday.

My overbearing boss,

My commander of life,

Mind Neighbor has the word of God,

It is like a controlling wife.

Though in this poem

I speak in jokes,

The true matter of it all,

Is that this is all I have spoken

Of the true fury of Mind Neighbor,

For it may be listening.

I may have trouble expressing

What it's really made me do.

Please, I beg, keep this between me and you.
